Chaos to Calm: 6-Week Online Intensive for Parents of Spirited Kids

Over the past few months, I've spent a lot of time talking to parents of spirited kids and asking them this question:

What's the #1 struggle you're having with your spirited child?

The answers from dozens of parents can pretty much be summed up with following statement:

"My child is grumpy/angry/defiant a lot of the time, and it’s wearing me down. I want to be patient and loving, but my child’s constant whining/screaming/meltdowns is making this nearly impossible. I just want my child to be happy, and I'd love to actually be able to enjoy being with him/her".

You WANT to enjoy being with your child, and you WANT to be calm and patient...but instead you often find yourself responding and reacting in ways you don't actually want.

And then not only does this just lead you to feel guilty and defeated - it actually makes your child's behaviors even worse.

This is what I call the "spirited child negative feedback loop".

To help you break out of this cycle, I'm hoping you'll join me for a 6-week small-group intensive from October 15 - November 29, 2019.

This interactive, virtual intensive will include some of the materials from my self-paced online parenting course, however the intensive will take you much deeper - challenging your own views of your child and how you parent him/her, and giving you the opportunity to practice some new skills along with a small cohort of other parents.

In particular, you're going to really focus on managing your own feelings, thoughts and responses to your child's behaviors, and on learning and practicing mindfulness strategies you can use to really be present with your child.

A general outline of what we'll be learning is as follows (there may be slight changes between now and the start of the intensive):

Week 1: Understand and accept your spirited child for who he is
Week 2: Setting your spirited child up for long-term success
Week 3: How to be the calm, confident leader your child needs (includes being a mindful parent)
Week 4: How to manage your child's big emotions
Week 5: Setting limits without power struggles
Week 6: Applying what you've learned to your child's specific struggles (defiance, picky eating, bedtime issues, hitting, struggles with transitions, etc.)

Each week will consist of 3 short, actionable lessons you can read anytime throughout the week, as well as a weekly live 1-1.5 hour call where you can ask questions or get feedback. The call will be recorded for those who can't make it for the live version.

You'll also receive a pdf workbook you can print out and use throughout the 6 weeks.

You should count on approximately 3 hours of work per week, and apart from the live weekly call, this work can be done completely on your own schedule.

Because of the interactive nature of this intensive, I would like to keep it to no more than 8 participants.
